The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) has rescheduled the 2027 edition of the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) to January 13–15, 2027, from the previously announced dates of January 27–29.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 16, 2026, the Network said the change was intended to align the event with the African Union’s continental calendar and avoid scheduling conflicts ahead of the AU Summit.
The Dialogues will be held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, bringing together African political and business leaders to advance commitments on free movement, seamless cross-border payments and increased intra-African trade.
The revised dates take into account the AU Summit, scheduled for January 30–31, 2027, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, preceded by Executive Council meetings on January 27–28.
The Network also cited the need to accommodate Ramadan, which is expected to begin on the evening of February 7, 2027, with the first day of fasting on February 8, subject to the sighting of the moon.
The annual Dialogues, convened under the patronage of President John Dramani Mahama, traditionally take place about two weeks before the AU Summit to enable the presentation of the APD Action Compact to African leaders in Addis Ababa.
The Compact outlines priorities, commitments and recommendations emerging from the Dialogues, reflecting the private sector’s position on advancing Africa’s single market agenda.
According to APN, the revised schedule preserves the link between private sector engagement and continental decision-making while avoiding overlapping commitments for heads of state, ministers, institutional leaders and other participants.
The 2027 edition will take place ahead of Ghana’s 70th independence anniversary on March 6, 2027, and the expected confirmation of President Mahama as Chairperson of the African Union at the forthcoming summit.
Stanislav Xoese Dogbe, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, said the President considered the Dialogues an important part of the year’s activities.
According to the statement, Mr Dogbe said President Mahama “views APD 2027 as a foundational pillar in a landmark year for Ghana and the continent”.
The Presidency also sees the event as “a high-level curtain raiser to these milestones, providing early intellectual and policy momentum ahead of the AU Summit”.
APD 2027 will be held under the theme, “The Africa We Want Is Borderless. Move Freely. Pay Seamlessly. Trade More.”
Discussions will focus on practical measures to promote the free movement of Africans, facilitate seamless cross-border payments and expand trade among African countries.
APN has apologised to partners, sponsors and delegates for any inconvenience caused by the change, particularly those who have already made travel and other arrangements.
The Network has urged participants to update their calendars and participation plans, adding that its secretariat would assist with enquiries arising from the rescheduling.

The Africa Prosperity Network is a Ghana-registered, not-for-profit organisation that provides a platform for African business and political leaders to collaborate on sustainable prosperity across the continent. Its flagship initiative, the Africa Prosperity Dialogues, is an annual forum for addressing key economic development challenges and opportunities.
