A 61-year-old fetish priest and palm wine tapper, who went missing for three days, has been found unconscious with multiple injuries in a bush at Assin Kushia in the Assin North District of the Central Region.
The victim, identified as Christian Etse Dosey, was discovered on Friday, June 12, 2026, after an intensive community search following his mysterious disappearance.
According to reports, Mr. Dosey left his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, after informing family members that he was going to deliver herbal medicine to a client who was undergoing treatment. However,he failed to return home, raising concerns among relatives and residents of the community.
His disappearance triggered a massive search operation involving family members,traditional authorities, and residents.
In line with local customs, some traditional rites, including drumming and prayers, were performed in an attempt to locate him.
After three days of searching, residents found Mr. Dosey lying unconscious in a nearby bush with severe injuries.
He reportedly sustained wounds to the neck, a fractured arm, and several other injuries believed to have been inflicted by unknown assailants.
The victim was immediately rushed to a clinic at Assin Kushia for emergency treatment but was later referred to the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu due to the severity of his condition.
He is currently receiving medical attention.
The incident has been reported to the Assin Praso District Police Command, which has launched investigations into the suspected assault.
Speaking to GhOne News’ Yaw Boagyan, the victim’s brother, Daniel Dosey, expressed shock and fear over the incident, stating that the family strongly suspects foul play.
“We are deeply worried about what happened to our brother. He left home healthy and was found unconscious with serious injuries.
We are appealing to the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that those behind this act are brought to justice,” he said.
Some residents have also expressed concern over the incident and are calling on the police to intensify investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Meanwhile, the condition of Mr. Dosey remains unclear as doctors continue to monitor his health.
