Colgate Ghana has launched an eight-week scholarship campaign in partnership with Melcom Supermarkets to support students’ education, with GH¢240,000 earmarked for scholarships and an additional GH¢120,000 in shopping vouchers.
The campaign, which runs from October to December 18, 2026, allows customers to nominate students for educational support by purchasing participating Colgate products at any of Melcom’s 54 stores nationwide.
Under the initiative, winners will be selected weekly, with each successful student receiving a GH¢15,000 scholarship to support their educational needs.
According to Colgate Ghana, the scholarships will be paid directly to the beneficiaries’ schools to cover tuition, approved levies, examination registration fees and essential school supplies.
Edward Sonkor, Country Lead of Colgate Ghana, said the campaign reflects the company’s commitment to supporting children’s education and creating opportunities for a brighter future.
“We have spent decades caring for smiles across Ghana, but a smile is more than healthy teeth,” he said. “A smile is confidence. It is the power that helps a child walk into a classroom ready to learn. This campaign builds a culture that celebrates learning and ensures no child is left behind.”
How to participate in the Colgate scholarship campaign
To participate, customers must purchase two participating Colgate products from any Melcom store.
The eligible products are the 140g Herbal or Maximum Cavity Protection toothpaste and the 120g Charcoal Gentle Clean toothpaste.
After making a purchase, customers can scan the campaign’s in-store QR code or send “Hi” via WhatsApp to 0257483187 to link their Melcom receipt and nominate a student for the scholarship.
The campaign combines educational support with shopping incentives, with GH¢120,000 in Melcom shopping vouchers also available to participants.
Colgate’s community initiatives in Ghana
Colgate-Palmolive Ghana said the campaign forms part of its broader commitment to community initiatives that promote health, education and well-being.
The company, which has operated as a household oral care brand in Ghana for decades, said it remains focused on delivering quality oral care products while supporting efforts to improve the well-being of communities.
The partnership with Melcom is expected to provide customers with an opportunity to contribute to students’ educational advancement through everyday household purchases.
