Justices of the Supreme Court have commended Deputy Attorney-General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, for his professionalism, punctuality, and ethical conduct in representing the State at the Apex Court.

The Justices have expressed admiration for his passion, preparedness, and consistent dedication to duty.

This commendation comes against a backdrop of previous concerns raised by the Court regarding the State’s approach to litigation.

The Deputy AG’s conduct has been noted as a positive shift. During proceedings on Thursday April 29, 2026, Justice Senyo Dzamefe remarked, “Deputy AG, we must commend you for your activeness in court always.”

Justice Amadu Tanko added, “When you one day become Attorney-General, don’t change…”

Beyond the Supreme Court, Dr. Srem-Sai has demonstrated leadership in high-profile political and criminal cases at the High Court and Court of Appeal.

It is not the first time members of the bench have taken note of his remarkable display of professionalism and leadership.

On February this year, one of the High Court judges commended the Deputy Attorney General, Dr.Justice Srem-Sai, and the lawyers of Alhaji Seidu Abagre, led by Martin Kpebu, for their exceptional handling of the high-profile Bawku Case.

At the High Court, he is leading the State’s prosecution in several major trials, including:
Republic v. Akonta Mining & Others – concerning alleged illegal mining at Samreboi;
Republic v. Kwabena Adu-Boahene & Others – involving GH¢49.1 million at the National Signals Bureau; Republic v. Solomon Asamoah & Prof. Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi – the $2 million Sky Train case among others.

At the Court of Appeal, he recently represented the State in successfully opposing Chairman Wontumi’s repeat application for a stay of proceedings, and in Kwabena Adu-Boahene’s appeal regarding disclosure of documents.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2026, the Deputy AG appeared before the Supreme Court with a team of State Attorneys for a marathon sitting involving multiple cases.

Among the cases heard were: Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng & 2 Others v. Attorney-General, NPP, NDC & Others; Israel Tetteh & 2 Others v. The Attorney-General & Others;
Shafic Osman v. The Board of Wesley Girls’ SHS & 2 Others;

Four separate suits challenging the legality of the suspension and subsequent removal of Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo as Chief Justice.

The four actions include a suit filed by the former Chief Justice herself against the Attorney-General and members of the five-member committee that heard the petitions leading to her removal.

The other three suits were filed by the Centre for Citizenship, Constitutional and Electoral Systems LBG; Vincent Ekow Assafuah, MP for Old Tafo; and Theodore Kofi Atta Quartey.

The panel hearing all four cases chaired by Justice Amadu Tanko includes, Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi, Justice Henry Attorney Kwofie, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice Sir Dominic Dennis Adjei, Justice Hafisata Amaleboba and Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo have adjourned to May 14, 2026 for Case Management Conference.
