The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, is set to appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on Friday, October 31, 2025, in connection with an alleged GH¢4 million bribe attempt made in his office.
Mr. Kotey confirmed his scheduled appearance in a Facebook post on Tuesday, saying, “I received a letter from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on 29th October 2025, at 11:00 a.m. I will be available at the OSP’s office on Friday, 31st October 2025, at 11 a.m.”
His announcement follows earlier reports circulating in the media that he had already been invited by the OSP—a claim he vehemently denied during an interview on Morning Starr with Joshua Kodjo Mensah earlier today (Same day)
“I have not received any letter from the OSP, so I’m wondering why this is making the rounds,” he clarified at the time.
“If the OSP invites me, I will go, but I have not received any letter. The OSP will not invite me through social media — they will invite me through a letter. This morning, I checked from my secretariat; there is no letter from the OSP.”
The controversy stems from an earlier revelation by Mr. Kotey that an unidentified man had allegedly attempted to bribe him with GH¢4 million to halt the introduction of a new vehicle registration system known as the DP sticker initiative.
Following that revelation, reports suggested the OSP had invited him to assist with investigations into the bribery attempt.
However, the DVLA Boss dismissed those reports as false, insisting that he would fully cooperate with any official invitation when received.
