A 26-year-old woman has been found dead, while her mother was discovered unconscious and a 12-year-old girl left in critical condition inside a container shop at the Effiduase Airport community in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The deceased has been identified as Freda Agyeiwaa Benson The unconscious woman, Leticia Bamfoa, believed to be Freda’s mother, and Juliet, 12, who was reportedly vomiting blood, were rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital for treatment.
Medical personnel pronounced Freda Agyeiwaa dead on arrival, while the two survivors are receiving medical care.
Speaking to the media, Freda’s fiancé, Kofi Boakye, said the victims had been preparing food in front of the container shop on Friday night for a relative’s wedding scheduled for the weekend.
According to him, they all spent the night in the container shop after the preparations.
He explained anxiety arose the following morning when repeated knocks on the door went unanswered.
Neighbours and relatives forced the door open and found Freda Agyeiwaa and her mother unresponsive, while the 12-year-old girl was conscious but extremely weak.
The three were immediately rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital.

He said doctors have indicated that further investigations, including an autopsy on the deceased, will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the incident.
Sources in the community have also pointed to litigation surrouding the parcel of land on which the container shop has been built which the deceased was threatened several times.
The crime scene though close to Effiiduase District Police command,the family was yet to make official complain to the police for investigation into the circumstance surrounding the incident.
