The Ministry of Finance has announced continued progress in Ghana’s ongoing debt restructuring discussions with all remaining external creditors.
In a statement released today, the government assured its international partners that it remains fully committed to the principles of the G20 Common Framework, emphasizing that no creditor has been treated preferentially. The Ministry reiterated its adherence to the principle of Comparability of Treatment and confirmed that the provisions outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with official creditors have been strictly observed.
“As part of this commitment, the government has continued to remain in arrears with all external creditors included in the debt restructuring perimeter,” the statement noted.
The Ministry expressed gratitude to Ghana’s partners for their “forbearance, cooperation and support” as the country works toward a fair and mutually beneficial resolution to its debt challenges.
The update is part of Ghana’s broader engagement with creditors to restore debt sustainability and stabilize the economy.
