The GES has interdicted the teacher in the viral sexual misconduct video pending the outcome of investigations

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has initiated a formal investigation into a disturbing video on social media allegedly showing sexual misconduct involving a teacher and a student at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region.

The GES confirmed in a formal release that management has taken swift action following the release of the video.

According to a release signed by Head of Public Relations at the GES, DanielFenyi, the body have in line with its rules and regulations interdicted the teacher seen in the video pending the outcome of investigations.

“Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement read.

The GES strongly condemned the alleged incident, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy toward such behaviour.

“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” the release stated.

The statement further emphasised the Service’s commitment to student welfare:

“Management remains committed to ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of all students within the educational system. Appropriate disciplinary and legal action will be taken against any individual found culpable.”

The GES assured the public that the matter is being handled with the utmost seriousness.

“The public is assured that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness. Further updates, where necessary, might be provided as investigations progress,” it added.
