Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to energy sector transformation and equitable access at the Mission 300 Ghana Energy Compact Review Workshop, held in Accra on May 26, 2025. The high-level forum brought together stakeholders from across the energy value chain to evaluate Ghana’s draft National Energy Compact—a blueprint designed to achieve universal access to clean, reliable, and affordable energy.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, Deputy Minister Richard Gyan-Mensah underscored government’s strategic direction for reform.
“The government is dedicated to ensuring that every Ghanaian has equitable access to sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy,” he said. “We are implementing sector-wide reforms, including the restructuring of utilities and fostering competitive procurement.”
The Mission 300 Ghana Energy Compact is part of a broader continental initiative that aims to connect 300 million people across Sub-Saharan Africa to electricity by 2030. Ghana’s local ambition seeks to connect 300 underserved communities to modern energy services within the same timeframe.
The review workshop served as a strategic platform to refine Ghana’s draft Compact through contributions from development partners, civil society, financial institutions, and private sector stakeholders.
