Black Stars midfielder Ebenezer Ofori’s manager, Alex Akummey, has called on the Sports Ministry to combine powers with the Police Service to intensify their search for the player’s stolen Range Over and other valuables.
It has been over six weeks since seven armed robbers raided the residence of the VfL Stuttgart player and made away with the vehicle with registration number GR- 2027-17 as well as some valuable items from his residence at Haatso in Accra.
The GHALCA Vice Chairman believes investigations could be hastened since the footballer was on national duty and the country should show concern.
“I don’t want to blame the Police for the delay but I believe they have the power to do extra and on the national front government should come to his aid since he was on national duty not holidays.
“He has taken off the pressure and I told him as a footballer he must concentrate on his career with the car or without the car”, he told Starr Sports.
The silky midfielder played the full throttle for the Black Stars as they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by the Red Devils of Congo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 1.
