Guzakuza has opened applications for the 10th anniversary edition of its IGNITE African Women in Agribusiness Fellowship, a programme aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs across the continent.
The six-month fellowship is designed for women founders and aspiring entrepreneurs in agribusiness, providing participants with practical training, leadership development, business support, and access to a vibrant community of innovators and changemakers driving food systems transformation in Africa.
Over the past decade, IGNITE has impacted and inspired hundreds of women entrepreneurs by equipping them with the tools, knowledge, mentorship, networks, and confidence needed to thrive within Africa’s agribusiness ecosystem.

The IGNITE Fellowship adopts a unique phased approach to entrepreneurial growth through the following pillars:
- IGNITE Within
- Mobilise to IGNITE
- Build to IGNITE
- Sustain to IGNITE
- Ignited to IGNITE
These phases are intentionally structured to ensure progressive development, helping participants strengthen their mindset, mobilise resources, build resilient ventures, sustain growth, and scale their impact within their communities and beyond. Over the years, Guzakuza has trained over 5,000 Agribusiness founders from 36 African countries.
As Guzakuza celebrates 10 years of IGNITE, this year’s edition promises to be bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever before.

Applications are open to women across Africa aged 18 to 40 and beyond who are engaged in agribusiness at any stage — whether at the ideation, startup, growth, or scaling phase.
The fellowship welcomes women working across the agricultural value chain, including production, processing, marketing, food innovation, agritech, climate-smart agriculture, and related sectors.
Speaking on the launch, emphasized the importance of investing in women-led agribusinesses as catalysts for food security, economic empowerment, resilient livelihoods, and sustainable community development across Africa.

As Guzakuza celebrates 10 years of IGNITE, the organisation also welcomes partnerships and sponsorships from institutions, organisations, and individuals passionate about empowering African women in agribusiness, strengthening food systems, and driving sustainable community impact across the continent.
Interested applicants are encouraged to apply and embark on a life-changing journey of growth, leadership, innovation, and impact.
