Member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Kwame Jantuah Esq., has cautioned against the public discussion of legal disputes on media platforms, insisting that such matters should instead be pursued through the courts.
Speaking on GHToday on GHOne TV on Tuesday, May 5, Jantuah argued that legal disagreements must follow due process rather than being debated in public, particularly by legal professionals.
“What bail condition was given to Ken Ofori-Atta in America? I do not think that we, especially as legal people, should sit on a platform and discuss bail conditions,” he said.
He explained that turning such issues into media commentary risks undermining security institutions and placing them in difficult positions in the eyes of the public.
“If we are against it, go to court. If we feel we don’t agree, let’s take it to court and let the court decide,” he stated, stressing that the judiciary remains the appropriate avenue for resolving disputes of that nature.
According to him, public commentary on unresolved legal matters can lead to misinterpretation and unnecessary politicisation, which may affect public trust in state institutions.

He further cautioned against what he described as “pontificating” on legal issues in the media, urging restraint and professionalism in public discussions involving ongoing or sensitive legal questions.
Jantuah maintained that adherence to due process strengthens institutional integrity and ensures that legal matters are resolved on the basis of law rather than public opinion.
