The committee was commissioned during a ceremony at Burma Camp marking the launch of National Cyber Security Awareness Month 2025.

Speaking on the theme “Building a Safe, Informed and Accountable Digital Space,” President Mahama explained that the JCC, which includes representatives from multiple security and intelligence agencies, will ensure coordination, coherence, and proactive measures across Ghana’s national defense framework.

“Cybersecurity must not be fragmented. It demands unity of purpose, a clear strategy and disciplined education. Cyber‑crime ignores borders,” he said, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in tackling cybercrime.

The President also emphasized the need for continuous public education, including integrating cybersecurity into school curricula, community training, and awareness campaigns, to cultivate a well-informed and resilient digital citizenry.

Government is calling on citizens to actively participate in Cybersecurity Awareness Month to help create a safer digital environment for all.
