Arsenal have finally ended years of heartbreak and second-place finishes after being crowned 2025/26 Premier League champions on Tuesday night following Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth.
The Gunners had done their part 24 hours earlier with a tense 1-0 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to a crucial goal from Kai Havertz. With one game remaining, Mikel Arteta’s side sit on 82 points, four ahead of City, sealing a historic triumph.
After three straight seasons of finishing runners-up, twice behind City and once behind Liverpool, Arsenal have finally climbed back to the summit of English football.
It is their first league title since the legendary “Invincibles” season of 2003/04 under Arsène Wenger and their 14th English top-flight crown overall — behind only Manchester United and Liverpool in the all-time rankings.
The title-winning campaign has been powered by several standout performers.
Captain Martin Ødegaard once again led by example in midfield, while Bukayo Saka delivered goals and assists in key moments throughout the season.
Declan Rice dominated the midfield battle in big games, and Havertz proved decisive with crucial goals during the run-in.
Arsenal’s defensive solidity, marshalled by William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, also played a major role in finally getting Arteta’s men over the line.
Attention now turns to Arsenal’s final league game away to Crystal Palace, where the Gunners will officially lift the Premier League trophy and celebrate with their travelling supporters.
But the season could yet become the greatest in the club’s history, with Arsenal preparing for a massive UEFA Champions League final showdown against Paris Saint-Germain on May 30.
Having already conquered England, Arteta’s side now have the chance to complete a historic double and win Europe’s biggest prize for the very first time.
