The Police administration has denied reports that an officer with the Adenta police Command has tested positive for COVID-19.
Reports suggest the officer tested positive after he attended to a suspect who was arrested and detained at the Adenta barrier Police station during the lockdown period.
However, reacting to the story, the police administration said test results for officers whose sample were taken for testing are not yet in.
“The Regional Police command would like to categorically state that no policeman has tested positive for COVID-19 at the Adentan Divisional Police Command. Samples of police officers stationed at Adentan were taken on Saturday 25th April 2020 by the Public Health Unit of the Ghana Police Hospital and results are not yet out. The command, therefore, deems the publication to be false, unfortunate and misleading,” a rejoinder signed by DSP Effia Tenge said.
