The second day of the QNET and Manchester City training programme continued on Friday, May 22, at the AIS Park, East Legon, Accra. The three-day programme focused on training and nurturing young football talents in Ghana.
Day Two of the session centred on player technique and defensive development, with coaches taking participants through a series of drills designed to improve their tactical awareness and overall game understanding. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to promote grassroots football development and create pathways for talented young players to reach the highest level of the sport.
Speaking after the session, Manchester City’s Kristian Mahon expressed his excitement about the programme and praised the technical quality and potential displayed by the participants.
“It’s been great working with the players who are enjoying it as much as the coaches. We’re seeing that they’re bringing a lot of positivity to the session. If players are playing with a smile on their face, that means their having fun. The players have been asking questions and been very engaging. The biggest thing is the character that the kids have displayed” he stated.

The Deputy Regional General Manager of QNET, Abdoulaye Cherif, stressed that the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting and developing young people across Africa.
“The main goal for us is to give back to the community, most especially to the youth helping them with all the resources to become leaders in the future” he said.
The training programme concluded at AIS Park, with a press conference and viewing party held at Marriott Hotel to climax the event.
