The Chief of Kokomlemle, Nii Ayikwei Kakalor I, has extended warm Homowo greetings to residents and well-wishers as the community marked another successful festival season.
In his keynote address, Nii Kakalor I noted that this year’s celebration coincides with the third anniversary of his reign and marks his second time performing the traditional sprinkling of kpokpoi as Chief of Kokomlemle.
He described the 2026 Homowo festivities as more beautiful and successful than the previous year’s, highlighting the expansion of the kpokpoi sprinkling to a wider section of the community.
The Chief used the occasion to urge the youth to stay away from drugs, describing drug use as a destructive habit that ruins futures.
Instead, he encouraged young people to prioritise education and strive to become better citizens.
Nii Kakalor I expressed gratitude to his family, invited guests and the entire Kokomlemle community for their support and active participation, which he said contributed to the success of this year’s Homowo.
The Regent of Gbese Mantse, Regent of Gbese Mantse and Chief of Agbogloshi/Korle Woko, Nii Armah Okpah II while speaking on the twin themes of unity and education, stressed that “in oneness everything will be well, but in disunity nothing will be well.”
He called on residents to let unity prevail among them.
Nii Armah Okpah II concluded by thanking all who attended and participated in the Homowo celebrations.
The festival once again reinforced the importance of cultural continuity, community cohesion and the development of the next generation in Kokomlemle and its surrounding areas.
