The Ghana Armed Forces has directed applicants who failed the medical stage of the ongoing 2025/2026 recruitment exercise to check the reasons for their disqualification and prepare for a possible review.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, in a Facebook post.
The development comes after President John Dramani Mahama intervened for an increase in recruitment numbers, creating an opportunity for some previously disqualified applicants to be reconsidered.
“Relative to the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment for 2025/2026, all potential recruits who failed the medical assessment are reminded to check for the reason(s) from the medical center where they were assessed,” he stated.
He further urged applicants with treatable conditions to seek medical attention ahead of a scheduled review.
“In addition, all those who had curable medical issues at that stage are encouraged to seek medical attention as they would be invited again for a review,” he added.
According to the Deputy Minister, the review process will be conducted free of charge.
“The medical review will come at no cost to the applicants,” the statement noted.
The move is expected to give a second chance to applicants with curable medical conditions, as efforts are made to expand intake into the Ghana Armed Forces.
