The second edition of EAA Media Productions’ annual Ghana Media Summit was a powerhouse affair. A packed house saw the worlds of academia and journalism engage with the summit focus of stories, standards and sex within the digital world.

The event took place outdoors at the prestigious Webster University Ghana campus in East Legon. Webster is building a reputation for groundbreaking and innovative programmes that are interactive, engaging and provoke much discussion. Panelists were Nana Ama Agyemang Asante – CitiFM; Kwame Acheampong – Starr FM Online; Efo Dela – Blogger, Poet and Satirist; Anita Erskine – Starr FM.

This year’s summit audience included the cream of communications academia with Professor Audrey Gadzekpo of the University of Ghana in attendance. Dr Marquita Smith, an African American communications lecturer at the University of Ghana and a Fulbright Scholar also attended, as did Kajsa Hallsberg and Dr Efua Tembisa Prah of Ashesi University.

The world of working journalism also attended. They included Sammy Darko – Former BBC Correspondent for Ghana; Bridget Otoo of TV3; Dr Etse Sikanku – Host of World AffairsGH radio show on ClassFM91.3 and Francis Abban – Morning Show host of Starr FM’s Morning Starr. The online world of bloggers, content creators, social media experts also came, they included Nicole Amarteifio – Creator of An African City and Nana Addo Opoku – Social Media Manager MG Digital.
Media from GBC and GHOne came as did communications students from Webster University and the University of Ghana.
