About 50 students from various schools in Ghana will be given the opportunity to interact with their colleagues from all over the world at this year’s Summer Camps.

According to the organizers, the trip which takes participants to four different European Countries namely; Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France will give the students the needed exposure and learning opportunities.

This year’s delegation from Ghana is made up of fifty-one participants from the following countries.

1. Ghana

2. United States

3. United Kingdom

4. Liberia

5. South Africa

6. Nigeria

The participants represent 18 schools which includes:

1. British International School,

2. SOS Hermann Gmier School

3. The Morning Star School Limited

4. Eden International School

5. The Light Academy,

6. Abraham Darby Academy

7. Ghana Christian International High School

8. St. Rose’s Senior High School

9. Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Secondary School

10. Hydeson School

11. Hill View International School

12. Edella Community School

13. Jose Maria International School

14. Vine Christian High School

15. Bethel Kids Int. School

16. Little Flower Montessori School

17. Christ Ambassadors School of Excellence

18. Bishop Bower School

Speaking at the launch of this year’s trip the Managing Director for Edibeck Consult, Edward Obiri Ampong underscored the importance of such an initiative.

“More often than not, children, especially in our part of the world have limited opportunities to explore and have new experiences that would give them the opportunity to view issues from different perspectives and be more tolerant.

Summer camps give young people the opportunity to learn outside the walls of the classroom. These experiences have the tendency to positively shape the mindset of an individual especially children since they are in their formative years.”

Mr. Ampong further urged students to take advantage of such trips to enhance their employability after school

“In a world where unemployment is on the ascendency, we cannot totally rely on formal education. Combining extra curriculum activities, which is an out of classroom learning experience with formal education gives young people a holistic appreciation of life. These lessons, outside the confines of a classroom build in our young ones confidence, resilience, tolerance, teamwork inter alia which are very necessary for an individual to thrive in every facet of life.

The world is moving at a very fast pace and trust me, we need young people who can think critically and find very creative and innovative ways of solving real life problems. This can happen when we guide and engage them in a fun way to discover themselves so they can reach their infinite potential.”
