As the race for the flagbearer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) intensifies, some grassroots executives of the party in the Volta Region have declared their unflinching support for Dr. Bryan Acheampong, describing him as the right man to lead the party into the 2028 general elections and beyond.
Addressing a press conference in Ho on Thursday, 26th June 2025, the group, known as the Concerned NPP Grassroots Executives of the Volta Region, said the Abetifi MP has demonstrated his commitment through various initiatives, including borehole construction, farm input support, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment projects for communities.
The group, consisting of polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and constituency executives in the region, led by Thelma Christiabel Adzimah, Ho Central Constituency Women Organizer, described Dr. Bryan Acheampong as a unifier and a leader who listens to the party’s grassroots.
The group is believed to have a total membership of close to 300 executives with voting rights.

They admonished all presidential hopefuls and party leadership not to neglect the grassroots, emphasizing that the success of the NPP rests on polling station executives and foot soldiers at the community level.
They further called for a free, fair, and transparent internal electioneering process and urged all stakeholders to put party unity above personal ambition.
The group noted that only Dr. Bryan Acheampong has the capacity to calm internal frictions and unify the party post-2026 primaries.
The New Patriotic Party has set January 31, 2026, to hold its presidential primaries to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general elections. The party is of the firm belief that such a move will diffuse tension and better set the party on a path to victory.
