The Black Stars of Ghana have qualified to the next stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers to be staged in Qatar after they won 1-0 against South Africa at the Cape Coast sports stadium.

The Stars started the game on a high note as they pressed Bafana Bafana for the ball.

The Black Stars were forced to make their first change early in the game after Ajax Armsterdam player, Kudus Mohammed got injured in the 10th minute. He was replaced by Daniel Kyereh.

In the 14th minute, Jordan Ayew, forced his way through the South Africa defense but his final shot from close range was poor. Two minutes later, Daniel Kyereh raced through on goal but his shot was not on target.

Andre Ayew scored from the spot kick in the 32nd minute after the referee whistled for an infringement on Daniel Amartey following a corner kick.

The Black Stars started as the determined side in the early minutes of the second half but the South Africans later dominated the game.

In the 66th minute, Kamaldeen Sulemana sent in a cross after turning his marker on Andre Ayew’s header went wide.

South African forward Percy Tau had the chance to equalize for South Africa but Joseph Wallocot saved the ball.
