The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has officially announced the full activation of its E-Gazette platform, paving the way for Ghanaians to apply for gazette services online without travelling or relying on middlemen.
The new system, which is part of the company’s digital transformation drive, allows users to submit applications, make payments, and verify documents electronically from anywhere in the country.
Addressing journalists in Accra, the Managing Director of GPCL, Nana Kwasi Boatey, said the activation represents a major milestone in the company’s modernization agenda and aligns with Ghana’s broader digitalization efforts.
He noted that the platform will operate on a 24-hour basis, giving citizens the flexibility to apply for official gazette publications at any time of day or night.
“Now, anyone who wants a gazette can apply right from home, without passing through a middleman or travelling to our offices,” Mr. Boatey said.
He explained that the system has been fully tested and integrated with secure online payment and verification tools, ensuring that every application is traceable and transparent.
According to him, this will help eliminate delays and frustrations that applicants have faced over the years.
“This initiative is a key step in our digital transformation agenda that will ensure that all Ghanaians can easily access gazette services online, anytime and from anywhere,” he added.
Officials from the company also demonstrated how the new system works, providing a detailed walkthrough of the application process. They highlighted the steps involved—from creating an account to uploading documents and making payments—to help users better understand how to navigate the portal.
In a bid to make the process even more convenient, Mr. Boatey said the company has ensured that the new platform can be accessed through mobile phones, tablets, and computers. He emphasized that the company’s goal is to make official publishing more open and citizen-friendly.
“We are committed to leveraging technology to improve efficiency and transparency in public publishing,” he said. “Our focus is to make life easier for every Ghanaian who needs to use our services,” he added.
The Managing Director added that the move is part of a wider strategy by the company to digitize its operations and reduce manual processes, which often created room for human error and bureaucratic delays.
“We believe that this is not just about convenience but also about trust and accountability. The system helps us serve Ghanaians faster while maintaining the integrity of our publications,” he explained.
The Ghana Publishing Company has, over the years, been responsible for publishing government notices, legal instruments, company registrations, and name change declarations.
The introduction of the E-Gazette platform is expected to streamline these processes and ensure faster turnaround times.
Previously, applicants had to travel to the company’s offices, often queuing for long hours to submit documents and make payments in person. Many also relied on intermediaries to process applications—a practice that sometimes led to exploitation and delays.
Officials believe the new online platform will address those challenges, allowing citizens to take charge of their own applications and access services more transparently.
A gazette is an official government publication that records legal and public notices such as company registrations, legislative instruments, and name changes.
The activation of the E-Gazette, therefore, marks a significant step in digitizing one of the state’s oldest administrative functions.
The company says it will continue to enhance the platform and introduce more features in the coming months to improve user experience and accessibility.
