The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has announced the successful repatriation of 925 undocumented migrants and street beggars out of 2,241 individuals arrested during a recent operation.
In a statement signed by Chief Superintendent Michael Amoako-Attah, Director of Public Affairs, the Service noted that repatriation efforts for the remaining individuals will continue in due course.
However, due to congestion at the Holding Centre at the National Headquarters, there is currently a temporary suspension of arrests.
The GIS emphasized that the ongoing Special Operation is being carried out humanely, with full regard for the rights of all migrants.
The Service reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and respect for human rights, assuring the public that all affected individuals are being treated with dignity.

The statement also expressed deep appreciation to stakeholders, especially the media and the general public, for their continued support throughout the operation.
The Special Operation, which aims to rid the streets of beggars and dismantle criminal networks, will resume in due course.
The GIS called for continued collaboration and support from all stakeholders to ensure the success of this initiative.
