Pep Guardiola has backed the new format of the summer transfer window, even though Manchester City voted against the changes.
The new format will mean that the summer transfer window will close the day before the season kicks off, coming into effect in the 2018/19 season.
He even explained that Manchester City backed the changes to the transfer window, even though they were one of five clubs who voted against the changes.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Watford, Crystal Palace and Swansea were those who were not fond of the change
Burnley abstained from the decision but the other 14 clubs in the Premier League voted for the transfer window to close before the season begins.
It seems as though Pep Guardiola certainly didn’t get the memo after he explained in his press conference that Man City back the changes.
This comes just 24 hours after it was announced that they were against the changes but there was no reason given as to why they were.
“I am so happy with the decision they have taken, and Manchester City agree about that,” he explained.
