Police at Awutu Breku in the Central Region have arrested a 30-year-old man Isaac Bonnie for allegedly murdering his ex girl friend at Gomoa Nkwatanan in the Awutu Senya East district.
The suspect who reportedly could not bear the hurt of the failed relationship, according to the police months after their separation, visited the new home of the lady Mariana Tetteh to commit the crime.
He is alleged to have stabbed and hit the deceased in the head with a stick.
Bonnie after allegedly murdering the victim, who was then staying with her new found boyfriend, bolted to Madina in the Greater Accra Region to evade arrest .
The police then used a friend of his to track him down under the pretext of helping him to bury the deceased so as to avoid further suspicions, but was arrested at the bush where the burial was to take place.
The suspect, according to the police, has since confessed committing the crime to the police and would be processed for court soon.
The Awutu Senya district police commander ASP Johnson Hesse confirmed the development to Starr News’ Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour on the arrest .
