Ten Guineans who tested positive for coronavirus and were quarantined at Tamale in the Northern region are threatening to leave their quarantine base.
The foreign nationals claim they do not have the killer virus and that they have been quarantined because of the financial benefits the region gets.
On Wednesday, the 10 Guineans packed their belongings and moved out to the entrance of the Guest House they are kept in an attempt to leave.
They were, however, prevented from leaving by a joint team of police and military who were immediately dispatched to the premises.
The 10 entered Ghana through Burkina Faso a day after the country’s borders were closed on 22nd March 2020. The reason for their entry into Ghana is yet to be ascertained.
One of their colleagues had earlier escaped from the facility in which they were being quarantined.
She was re-arrested in Accra on April 5 almost 10 days after she escaped.
Ghana has so far recorded 1154, Dr Patrick Aboagye, Director General of the Ghana Health Service a has announced.
Addressing a press conference Wednesday, Dr Aboagye said out of 1154, a total of 120 people have fully recovered while four persons are in critical condition with one on a ventilator.
