Brand Talk for Key Obaatanpa Mothers’ Day

Being a mom is a lifelong journey of ensuring the family is well cared for, groomed, and educated. Mothers’ Day is a day set aside to honor mothers and to show them how much they are valued within the family. It is also a day to celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Mothers’ Day is, therefore, a day set aside to appreciate mothers and all mother-figures. In Ghana, Mothers’ day falls on the second Sunday of May which is the 9th of May this year.

The Key brand, with its iconic popular bar, Key soap, has become the dependable partner of most Ghanaian mothers who are concerned about how their family express themselves through their clothes. The Ghanaian mother ensures her family steps out in confidence and Key has provided that affordable bar suitable for the whole family laundry. As a traditional mother (Obaatanpa) of all bar soaps, mothers’ day is, therefore, one of the relevant moments for the Key brand.

In continuing the Traditions campaign, kicked off in March with the Heritage series which brought to life some nostalgic moments of our struggle for independence, the Key Obaatanpa campaign also seeks to celebrate the Ghanaian mother who has brought joy and protection to the family then, now, and forever.

To the larger society, the Ghanaian mother has helped to nurture our children and trained them to become essential partners in the building of our nation, Ghana. They have also ensured that our good traditions have been passed on from generation to generation. This is the very essence of the ‘Key’ brand purpose.

More especially within this period of COVID, our mothers have been instrumental in ensuring the safety of families, doubling as teachers and care givers whilst being enterprising.

So, today being Mothers’ day, we are rewarding 5000 instrumental mothers across our Hospitals, Churches, Muslim communities, not forgetting our Teachers & Care givers, and some selected Policewomen. Key soap is saying ‘Ayeeko, Happy Mothers’ Day and thanks for ensuring that we have a tradition of smiles and a future that is bright.

 Thank you

Ewuraba Ekua Adusei (Mrs.),
