Fifteen (15) personalities in Ghana’s business community have been inducted into the Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame for their exemplary performances as industry captains.

The inductees included the Board of Trustees of Health Sector Occupational Pensions Scheme, Dr Derek Amoateng; the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VALCO and President of the Ghana Employers’ Association, Mr Daniel Acheampong; Norpal Ghana Limited, Kwame Sarpong; Founder of AsanSka University College of Design and Technology, Mr Kwabena Asante Asare; the CEO of West Africa, Country head of Ghana, DHL, Serigne Ndanck Mbaye; and the Chairman of Ruma Fertility and Specialist Hospital, Dr Rudolf Kantum Adageba.

The others were the General Manager of Ridge Royal Hotel, Mr Samuel Obiri Aduama; the Commissioner of Insurance and CEO of the National Insurance Commission, Dr Justice Ofori; the CEO of Envaserv Research Consult Limited, Dr Emmanuel Lamptey; the Chairman and Managing Director of Minecon Resources and Services Limited, Mr Daniel Kenneth Bansah; the CEO of Sun Power Innovations Limited, Mr Ernest E. Amisah; the Managing Director of Dredge Masters, Captain Ansar Ahmed Khan, and the Administrative Manager of Adjafash Company Limited, Mr Prince Eric Williams.

Special induction

Two people — the former CEO and Board Chairman of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr Kwasi Abeasi, and the High Commissioner of the Republic of Malta to Ghana, Mr Jean Claude Galea Mallia — received special induction that night.

At the fifth induction ceremony in Accra last Friday, the personalities were honoured with citations and awards to symbolise their acceptance into the Hall of Fame.

Mr Abeasi, who chaired the event, said the performances of the inductees had brought good dividends to their various companies, in spite of COVID-19 and its effects on the world.

He said there was the need to celebrate the few individuals who “put their faces forward”, stressing that chairpersons and their boards usually got the blame when a company failed but receive no honours when a company flourished.

“When a company goes down, it is usually the board and naturally the chairman who have their heads on the block. But when the honours come, it’s the CEO and the management that always get it, so we thought it was about time to celebrate those who put their faces forward,” he explained.

Ghana Corporate Hall of Fame

The Corporate Ghana Hall of Fame, organised by The Business Executive Limited (TBE), recognises and celebrates the professional accomplishments of current and former chairpersons and CEOs in Ghana’s business industry — whether actively working or retired.

It provides them with a forum to collectively contribute to the growth and development of corporate Ghana by providing their knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience to both successors at the helm of the corporate sector and public policy makers or implementers.
