Authorized distributors of KIA in Ghana, RANA motors have announced thirteen-year-old Dora Nyarko, as Ghana’s first official match ball carrier ahead of the FIFA World cup in Qatar.
The official match ball carrier is a platform for children to take the first step onto the football pitch, carrying the match ball in his or her hands alongside the referee in front of millions of football fans.
Dora was selected out of 26 entrants across the country and was subsequently chosen as one of the top six out of 64 children participating worldwide as hero official match ball carriers.
Dora Kuukua Nyarko who hails from Abura in the central region will get to experience one of the best moments in her life thanks to KIA.
Dora has been selected as Ghana’s first FIFA official match ball carrier, which offers children worldwide between 10 to 14 years worldwide the opportunity to take the first step into football ahead of a match.
She entered into the competition by Rana motors in partnership with the Ghana football association and was shortlisted as one of the five finalists out of 26 entrants across the country.
Despite her passion for the game, Dora says she nearly quit football after her father passed away at age nine. She was encouraged by her mother and coach to enter the competition.
She hopes her story will encourage young female footballers to pursue their dreams.
Dora will be featured in KIA’s global content during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022, as it is the first time a Ghanaian child has participated in the world cup as an OMBC.
Meanwhile, five winners have been presented with a full package trip to the FIFA world cup in Qatar as part of the world cup promotion by Rana motors.
The promotion was to afford customers who purchased any KIA model between September and October 2022 to attend the world cup.
Five others were presented with consolation prizes made up of assorted gift items from partners, coca cola, Adidas, and Caveman watches
