Former President John Dramani Mahama has warned that the ruling  New Patriotic Party dare not attempt to cheat in the 2024 general  election stating that the opposition NDC will not sit unconcerned.

Mr. Mahama who is aspiring to be Presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress, NDC, for the 2024 election said if that is the motive behind the appointment of known NPP members unto the Electoral commission then the governing party must revise its note.

“2024 is going to be a different election. We are not going to take anything for granted. ….NDC 2024 we are taking our own referee into the ring. We’re not going to sit down and let anybody cheat us. And that is why they are appointing their own party people I mean people who are known NPP people unto the Electoral Commission. I can assure them that they dare not attempt to cheat.  We don’t want to cheat anybody and we don’t want anybody to cheat us. Because I know  that if the election  is free  ,fair and clean I have no doubt  in my mind that NDC  will win  the election  of 2024” John Mahama warned.

He said this when addressing delegates of the party in Upper Manya Krobo Tuesday evening as part of his 3-day tour of the Eastern region.

John Mahama indicated that the NDC is going to be vigilant to ensure that the election is free, fair and clean.

“..and so we are going to be vigilant  .We are going to have our eyes open like the eagle. There is no ballot paper that is going to come from anywhere and enter that ballot box. The will of the Ghanaian people will be what is recorded and I know that NDC will emerge Victorious. But it will all depend on our hardwork. We going to train all of you”.

He continued “…that night of 7th December  2024 none  of us is going  to sleep  until all the results  are counted and I am sure before dawn  of 8th December 2024 we would  have got all our results  and we will be able to tell all of you in the branches  that NDC has won the election”.

Mr. Mahama charged the Upper Manya constituency of the party particular supporters of the two aspiring parliamentary candidates -Bismark Tetteh Nyarko(incumbent MP)  and former MP Jeff Tetteh Kavianu to unite after the primaries to work together  to ensure that the NDC retains the seat.

The MP Bismark Tetteh Nyarko reminded Mr. Mahama that intended policies and initiatives captured in the 2020 manifesto of the party for upper Manya Krobo is still relevant to effect change in the area when NDC wins 2024 presidential election.

The MP pledged 99% vote in the constituency to John Dramani Mahama.
