NPP’s Ernest Anim wins Kumawu by-election

The New Patriotic Party(NPP) Parliamentary Candidate, Ernest Yaw Anim has been elected the new Member of Parliament for Kumawu in the by-election held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

He polled 15,264 as against his closest contender the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) Akwasi Amankwah who garnered 3,723 votes.

The Independent Candidate, Kwaku Duah who contested the former MP in the 2020 who some political watchers believed could cause a stair managed to secure 2,478votes. The second independent candidate who also bears the name Kwaku Duah had 62 votes.

The Kumawu by-election became necessary after the incumbent MP, Philip Basoah died in March 2023.
