The incumbent Member of Parliament MP (Effia) Joseph Cudjoe has stated that he will have 70 percent of the 505 votes in the constituency.
Speaking to Empire News he said his own collation of the 416 votes cast shows him in the lead and is highly optimistic to garner 70 percent of the votes by close of polls.
Mr. Cudjoe is a third term Member of Parliament and Minister for Public Enterprises.
He is being contested by a first time aspirant, Isaac Boamah.
The parliamentary primaries for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in areas with sitting Members of Parliament is currently on-going.
The party currently has 137 Members of Parliament.
Some of the incumbent Members of Parliament going for a reelection are facing stiff contests in constituencies such, Bantama in the Ashanti region and Adansi Asokwa in the Central region among others.
The party has a total of 326 aspirants cleared to contest the election in 100 constituencies in 15 regions out of the 16 regions because the party has no seat in the Oti region.
Meanwhile, the party has already elected candidates in areas when the party has no sitting Members of Parliament.
