A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, Hamza Suhuyini Esq., has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting Ghana’s cultural values amid ongoing discussions around the anti-LGBTQ+ bill.
Speaking on GH Today with Lily Mohammed on GHOne TV on Monday, April 13, 2026, Suhuyini stated that the NDC government remains resolute in preserving the country’s cultural identity and societal norms.
“The NDC government is one that takes its word seriously. We will live up to that campaign promise. We will protect the sanctity of our culture as a country.” He said, emphasising that safeguarding Ghana’s traditions and values remains a key priority.
He stressed that the administration is also committed to defending the sovereignty of the republic by resisting external influences that may conflict with what he described as Ghanaian values.
“We will protect the sovereignty of the republic by ensuring that we do not allow other people to import their way of life into this country that we consider unacceptable,” he added.
Suhuyini further noted that the government will remain aligned with the expectations of the Ghanaian people on issues concerning culture and national identity.
