President John Dramani Mahama says his official X (formerly Twitter) account (@JDMahama) has been restored.
This comes on the back of the President’s account was compromised on March 16, 2025.
The Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications and Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has confirmed that President John Mahama’s official X account was temporarily compromised in the early hours of March 17, 2025.
Speaking on State of Affairs with Joshua Kodjo Mensah, he stated that “some unscrupulous persons have compromised it, but efforts are on the way to recover it, and it should be recovered in a moment from now.”
However, President Mahama in a tweet disclosed that his account has safely been recovered.
“Thank you for your inquiries and offers to assist. My team, working with X support, has successfully restored my account”, President Mahama wrote on his handle.
