The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to host His Majesty King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini in a landmark visit to the Asante Kingdom from June 24 to 28, 2025.
A large billboard mounted at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi has announced the upcoming royal engagement, featuring portraits of both monarchs alongside the national flags of Ghana and Eswatini.
The visit is expected to deepen cultural and diplomatic ties between the Asante Kingdom and the southern African nation. King Mswati III, the reigning monarch and head of state of Eswatini, will be received by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the 16th occupant of the Golden Stool and spiritual leader of the Ashanti people.
This rare and historic interaction underscores the tradition of solidarity among African royals and marks a significant moment of cultural diplomacy between two of the continent’s most revered traditional leaders.
Although the Manhyia Palace has yet to release the official itinerary, sources close to the Palace indicate that the week-long visit will feature a series of cultural ceremonies, private engagements, and discussions centred on traditional leadership, development, and inter-kingdom collaboration.

The event is expected to be one of the most significant traditional visits in recent Ghanaian history, further affirming Kumasi’s role as a hub of African royalty and cultural influence.
