Immediate past Ledzokuku Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mordecai Abusuayedom Quarshie, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to undergo internal renewal, prioritise unity, and return to the core value of service to the people.
Speaking on The Verdict with Isaac Addae on Starr 103.5 FM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Mr Quarshie stressed the need for honest reflection and a recommitment to the original purpose of politics, serving humanity.
“What’s important is that NPP, we unite, we come together, and we commit to service to humanity, not our own,” he stated.
He acknowledged that the party is in a period of introspection and rebuilding following its 2024 electoral defeat, but insisted this moment must be used to strengthen its foundation.
“We are in the process of preparing, and I believe firmly, and I also pray, that in the passage of time, when we finish and we come back, we can present something that Ghanaians will find wholesome and attractive again.”
Mr Quarshie also cautioned against being distracted by political noise and reminded politicians on both sides of the aisle to stay focused on their duty to the public.

“Sometimes I think it’s important for politicians; all of us on both sides; to keep reminding ourselves why we are here. Because the clamour, the noise can get so much that you forget the real reason.”
According to him, with unity and a focus on genuine public service, the NPP can bounce back and restore public trust.
