The champions of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season will take home a staggering ₵2 million, the biggest prize in the competition’s history.
GFA President, Kurt Okraku, made the announcement during the Association’s 31st Ordinary Congress held in Prampram on Tuesday, August 12, describing the move as a bold step to transform the league’s competitiveness.
According to him, the increased reward will raise the stakes for all 18 participating clubs and keep the battle for points intense until the very end.
“This is a story that has never been told, but today it’s being told,” Okraku said. “Every point now matters more than ever, with ₵2 million waiting for the champions.”

The new figure marks the highest payout ever for the league winners and reflects the FA’s commitment to boosting financial incentives and improving the standard of domestic football.
