The Ghana Air Traffic Safety Electronics Association (GhATSEA) has announced the suspension of its planned strike action, which was scheduled to begin today, Thursday, October 30, 2025.
The decision, according to the association, follows “constructive engagement” with the governing board and management of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
In a statement dated Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and signed by GhATSEA President Engr. David Annan Mensah, the group said the move reflects their continued commitment to dialogue and maintaining safety in Ghana’s airspace.
“Following constructive engagement with the GCAA governing board and management, we have decided to suspend our planned strike action which was scheduled to take effect from 30th October 2025,” the statement said.
The association expressed appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the discussions and expressed optimism that the ongoing engagements will yield a lasting resolution to all outstanding issues.
“We appreciate the efforts made by all stakeholders during the discussions and remain optimistic that the ongoing engagements will lead to a lasting resolution of all outstanding issues,” GhATSEA noted.
GhATSEA also reassured the public and all aviation stakeholders of its dedication to ensuring safety and professionalism in the delivery of air navigation services nationwide.
“GhATSEA assures the public, our partners, and all aviation stakeholders that we remain steadfast in our commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in the provision of air navigation services across the country,” the statement added.
The association extended gratitude to the Acting Director-General of the GCAA, Rev. Stephen Wilfred Arthur, and the Acting Deputy Director-General (Technical), Mr. Theophilus Aryee Ago, for their commitment during the dialogue process.
It also thanked the public and media for their patience and understanding throughout the period, reaffirming its pledge to ensure the continued safety and efficiency of Ghana’s airspace.
