Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, says a viral video involving Kennedy Agyapong has significantly hurt his standing in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary.
Speaking on Morning Starr with Naa Dedei Tettey on Monday, January 26, Mr. Dankwah described the incident as a turning point in the campaign.
“To be very honest with you, last week has been devastating to Ken,” he said.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed Kennedy Agyapong accusing former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of dishonesty.
“The video recording in which he was calling the former vice president a liar was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” he stated.
According to Mr. Dankwah, the reaction from delegates was immediate.

“The reaction was immediate, and the numbers kept dropping one percent every day,” he said.
He cautioned that such actions could destabilize an otherwise stable campaign.
“The last thing you do in any campaign is to lose focus,” he said. “Don’t throw a grenade in the middle of the competition. That was a grenade. It was self-destructing.”
The NPP presidential primaries, scheduled for January 31, 2026, was approved by the National Executive Committee and National Council, a move intended to allow sufficient time for campaigning and internal coordination ahead of the 2028 general elections.
All aspirants have signed a peace pact, committing themselves to unity and mutual respect as the party prepares to select its flagbearer.
