The 2026 World Cup might still be some months away, but a lot of players will be looking to get game time and improve their performances to earn the favour of their national team coaches.
The past weekend has seen brilliant performances from some Ghanaian players abroad;
- England: Ibrahim Osman scored his first goal for Birmingham City in a 2-1 win over Leicester City, while Fatawu Issahaku was on the score sheet for Leicester. Jordan Ayew came on as a substitute, and Antoine Semenyo featured for 96 minutes in Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Liverpool.
- Germany: Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer scored for Hamburger SV in their 2-0 win over FC Heidenheim.
- Belgium: Jerry Afriyie scored early for RAAL La Louviere in their 2-1 defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise.
- Austria: David Atanga scored for Wolfsberger AC in their 2-2 draw against Grazer AK.
- Denmark: Caleb Yirenkyi scored for Nordsjaelland in their 2-1 win over Sonderjyske.
- Serbia: Douglas Owusu scored his maiden goal and provided an assist for Red Star Belgrade in their 5-0 win over Novi Pazar.
