The National Service Authority (NSA) has instructed all National Service Personnel (NSP) assigned to institutions under the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to continue their work despite the ongoing industrial action.
The directive, dated Wednesday, March 11, comes as CLOGSAG staff embark on a nationwide strike demanding improved working conditions, wage adjustments, and better resource allocation for local government and civil service institutions.
While the strike has disrupted operations in some offices, the NSA emphasized that National Service Personnel are not members of CLOGSAG and are therefore not part of the industrial action.
In a statement signed by Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority said, “National Service Personnel are not members of CLOSAG and therefore not covered by the strike action. All NSP are required to continue reporting to their assigned institutions and carry out their duties as expected.”
The NSA further stressed that maintaining services during the strike is critical for sustaining essential operations in affected institutions.
“The Authority appreciates the cooperation and dedication of all National Service Personnel in contributing to national development,” the statement added.
