The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga Esq., has urged Ghanaian youth to become transformational leaders who create meaningful impact rather than simply occupying leadership positions for prestige.
Speaking at a leadership summit held at the Islamic University College, Ghana, under the theme “Leading Beyond Limits: Building Vision, Influence, and Impact,” Mr. Ayariga challenged young people to pursue leadership with purpose and a commitment to societal change.
He encouraged participants to focus on making contributions that will positively shape future generations, stressing the importance of developing realistic and achievable visions as the basis for sustainable progress.
According to him, leadership is not defined merely by title or office, but by the ability to influence others through genuine service and dedication.
Mr. Ayariga noted that occupying a position does not automatically translate into influence, explaining that true leadership is earned by prioritizing the welfare of others over personal gain.
He further advised young people not to pursue positions solely for recognition, but rather to focus on creating impact and positively influencing those they lead.

The NYA CEO also encouraged the youth to embrace leadership opportunities boldly, while committing themselves to continuous learning, practice, and self-improvement in order to drive positive societal transformation.
Also speaking at the summit, Acting National President of the Ghana Youth Federation (GYF), Sherif Ghali, observed that although many young Ghanaians generate innovative ideas, a significant number fail to take the necessary steps to implement them.
He stressed that ideas alone cannot create change without action, urging the youth to translate their visions into practical outcomes.
“A vision without structure is merely a wish,” Mr. Ghali stated, while also encouraging young people not to fear criticism, noting that constructive feedback is crucial for growth and long-term success.

The summit brought together several notable speakers, including Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, and President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Rashid Ibrahim.
