The Akuapem Nifahene and Adukromhene, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, has called on Okere and Akuapem nationals in the diaspora to form stronger investment partnerships with traditional authorities to drive sustainable development in Adukrom and the wider Okere area.

Speaking to Okere/Akuapem Nifaman nationals living in the United Kingdom in London on Saturday, 22nd August 2026, the Nifahene said his ten-year reign has already delivered tangible progress in infrastructure, education and cultural preservation.

Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V mentioned his key achievements during his 10-year reign to include the renovation of the Adukrom market and construction of a modern toilet facility there, renovation of Nifa Basic School, support for infrastructure improvements at Nifa Senior High School, and the establishment of the Osuodumgya Educational Fund to assist brilliant but needy students in the Okere District.

He also credited collaboration with former Okere MP, Dan Botwe for the construction of the Okere District Court, District Hospital, an astroturf facility, and major roads linking Adukrom to Somanya, Adukrom to Abiriw, and other routes across the Okere District and Akuapem Traditional Area.

Looking ahead, however, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V stressed that the next phase of growth depends on active diaspora involvement.

He urged nationals abroad to partner with traditional leaders in tourism, agribusiness, and other local enterprises that form the backbone of the Okere economy, creating jobs and stimulating investment.

The Nifahene also pledged his full support for the Akuapem Silicon Ridge initiative, committing time and resources to help position Akuapem as a technology and innovation hub.

He further highlighted the importance of preserving the history and traditions of principal towns within Okere through proper documentation.

Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V acknowledged the contributions of Adukrom Tufuhene Nana Ayisi Koranteng and other individuals who have worked to uplift Okere and Adukrom.

As the traditional area marks the 10th anniversary of Ahunabobrim Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V’s enstoolment and the 200th anniversary of the Akuapem Odwira Festival of the Katamanso War, the Nifahene appealed for diaspora unity, participation and financial support to make the celebrations memorable and impactful.

“The future of Okere rests on partnership between traditional authority and our people in the diaspora,” he said, calling on nationals abroad to invest in the land of their ancestors and help build a prosperous Okere for generations to come.
