Three schools, three big packages, one epic grand finale set for September 10, 2026.

Momentum has hit fever pitch ahead of the 2026 National Science and Math Quiz Grand Finale as old students of all three finalists – Accra Academy, St. Augustine’s College and PRESEC Legon – trigger a financial bonanza for their teams.

In the camp of St. Augustine’s College (AUGUSCO), three old students leading the support drive – Francis, Elton and Duncan – have pledged GHC 10,000 each for each contestant for reaching the finals, plus an additional GHC 10,000 for the faculty.

The old students have assured that the reward will be increased to GHC 30,000 each for each contestant and another GHC 30,000 for faculty – totalling over GHC 120,000 – if AUGUSCO lifts the trophy for the 3rd time.

Beyond the cash, the group has promised an undisclosed package for the team both in and out of the country if they win. Adding to the morale boost, Nathaniel Attoh, one of Ghana’s finest broadcasters and an old student of St. Augustine’s College, has also pledged an undisclosed package for a third trophy win.

For Accra Academy, history has already been rewarded. As reported by The 1931 James Town Boys – Accra Academy, Bleoobi Ing. John Osei-Wusu, Executive Chairman of JP Trustees Ltd., and Bleoobi Philip K. Tieku, CEO of Star Oil Ghana, have announced the immediate establishment of an educational fund with an undisclosed amount in US Dollars.

The fund covers not just the three contestants but every member of the team.

“Whether they pursue their tertiary education here in Ghana or abroad, and irrespective of their chosen University, field of specialisation, we will ensure that they receive full scholarship support,” the statement said.

“Our intention is to demonstrate Development for Life, an investment that goes beyond the competition.”

The initiative was facilitated by Richard Abbey Jnr, Founder of Forty Under 40.

Meanwhile, in the camp of seven-time champions PRESEC Legon, old students and sponsors have also lined up an all-expenses-paid vacation package, for the team as motivation to clinch an 8th title.

The stage is set. For the first time in its 94-year history, Accra Academy qualified with 54 points after beating Achimota and Bright SHS. They now face PRESEC and two-time champions AUGUSCO on September 10, 2026.

With lifetime scholarships, GHC120K and foreign trips on the line, this promises to be the richest and most exciting NSMQ finale ever.
