Staff from Ghana’s oil marketing companies swapped the intensity of the boardroom for the energy of the sports field at the 2026 Petfun games, organised by the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC).
By the end of the day, GOIL and Bost Energies had firmly established themselves as the dominant forces.
GOIL delivered a strong all-round performance, winning the men’s sack race, men’s lime-and-spoon race, both the men’s and women’s volleyball competitions, and the swimming event.
The company also walked away with the Best Performing Company and Most Organised awards, reflecting both competitive success and smooth coordination.
Bost Energies matched that impact in other areas, claiming the women’s sack race and table tennis titles.
The company was further recognised as Overall Best Company and Best Coordinator, rounding off a highly successful outing.
Several other firms also shone. Rock Africa took the tug of war, Xpress Gas excelled at playing cards, and Zen Petroleum won the CEOs’ shoot-out. Desert Oil claimed the football title, while Benab Oil triumphed in the women’s lime-and-spoon race and the draft competition. Misa Energy won the apple-chewing contest, JP prevailed at ludo, and Petrosol Platinum Energy PLC earned the First to Arrive award.
Speaking on the sidelines, Gabriel Kumi, Board Chairman of COMAC, underlined the deeper purpose of the gathering.
The games, he said, were designed to boost staff morale and give companies a chance to interact beyond the daily pressures of business.
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” he observed, capturing the spirit of the day.
