A fuel tanker carrying diesel has overturned at Densuso on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, leaving two people injured.
The accident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, after the tanker, which was travelling from Tema towards Kumasi, reportedly suffered a front tyre burst.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said the tyre failure caused the driver to lose control, resulting in the tanker overturning.
“Two males sustained injuries, while the tanker’s head and bulk were partially damaged,” the Service said in a statement.
The Suhum Municipal Fire Station received the distress call and dispatched a seven-member team at 6:52am under the leadership of ASTNO Kissiedu Alexander.
The firefighters reached the accident scene five minutes later and immediately assessed the tanker and surrounding area.
A search conducted by the crew established that no casualty was trapped inside the vehicle.

The spilled diesel, however, posed a potential ignition risk, prompting firefighters to deploy a charged hose line to cool the tanker and help prevent a fire.
The GNFS said the crew completed its operation after confirming that the scene was safe.
“The crew left the scene at 1055 hours after ensuring the area was safe,” the Service said.
