The Association of Magistrates and Judges of Ghana (AMJG) has celebrated 11 of its members who have retired or are about to retire after several years of dedicated service to the Judicial Service and the country.

The celebration took place during the opening ceremony of the Association’s 45th Annual Conference held in Accra.

This year, 11 members across the various hierarchies of the courts have retired or are due to retire.

They are Justice Philip Bright Mensah of the Supreme Court, Justice Amos Wuntah Wuni of the High Court, His Honour Michael Johnson Abbey of the Circuit Court, His Honour Frank Yao Gbeddy of the Circuit Court, His Honour James Kojoh Botah of the Circuit Court, Her Worship Stanislaus Amanoipo of the District Court, Her Worship Lawrence Buernor Buer of the District Court, Her Worship Emmanuel Boadu of the District Court, Her Worship Augustine Akusa-Am of the District Court, Her Worship Paulina Kwakyewa Adwoa of the District Court and Her Worship Magdalene Thompson of the District Court.

In a message to the retirees, the President of the Association Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu, a Justice of the Court of Appeal, wished them a fulfilling retirement.

“My Lords and Ladies, may retirement bring you peace, joy, good health and plenty of time to enjoy the things you love. Wishing you all the very best,” the Association stated.

The Association also extended its heartfelt thanks to members of its National Executive Committee and National Board for their hard work and support.

It further expressed sincere appreciation to the Judicial Secretary, Mr. Musah Ahmed, and his deputy, as well as members of the various committees set up to help the Association achieve its objectives.

The Association prayed for blessings for the Judiciary and the nation.
