The Inspector-General of Police James Oppong-Boanuh has warned personnel of the service to desist from discussing politics.
The IGP also warned police officers to be cautious of the issues that engage their attention in their respective barracks across the country.
“Desist from political discussions. Once they live in the barracks they should not engage in political talks. The Barracks not an avenue for political gossips. When they are not comfortable with an issue, they should engage you and then you will talk to the authorities,” the IGP noted when he addressed officers of the Police force in the Western North Region Tuesday.
Meanhwile, the Accra Region Commander of the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Afful Boakye-Yiadom has urged officers to reduce their sexual activities as the Decembers polls nears.
In his view, such a measure will give officers energy to perform their function dutifully during the voting day.
“Control yourself, we all need the energy to work during the election I, therefore, advise all of you to eat well, reduce your sexual rounds for you to get the energy to work well before, during and after 2020 elections,” the Commander said after a route march organised by the Police service to assure the public of its readiness ahead of the elections.
