The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in collaboration with the Police Service, Prisons Service, National Fire Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and Immigration Service, will carry out a joint “Show of Force” exercise in Accra on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
The exercise, set to begin at 9:00 a.m. from Black Star Square and proceed through major streets of the capital before returning to the starting point, is part of routine training to enhance operational readiness, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and reassure the public of security preparedness ahead of the festive season.
Authorities said the exercise is designed to deter crime, maintain peace and stability, and ensure a robust national security posture. Residents should expect a visible increase in security personnel and temporary traffic slowdowns but are encouraged to continue with their normal activities.
Colonel Evelyn Ntiamoah Asamoah, speaking for the GAF Director General of Public Relations, emphasized that the drill is a standard preparedness exercise and called on the public to cooperate with security personnel during the operation.
